Vernon Davis Fantasy Football Ranking

This Guy was supposed to be good right?
What the heck happened to this guy. He as supposed to be the next Antonio Gates and instead he's been the biggest flop tight end I can remember (Ricky Dudley anyone). With is big frame and 4.3, 40 yard dash time Vernon was supposed to be the next big thing in football. But then we all learned the hard way as San Fransisco that Davis has a HUGH EGO!!!! I mean don't get me wrong as a 49ers fan I've seen receiving talents with ego's like Terrell Owens running to the star twice in Dallas. But at least Owens always produced on the field. This guy makes one first down catch every three games and lets everyone know what a great thing he's done.
Getting past Davis's ego I believe Mike Singletary may have done Vernon a great favor by sending him to the locker room against the Seahawks. #85 was humbled on a national stage by a well respected Hall of Fame player and person in Singletary. After that game Davis toned down his attitude and started giving the 49ers better minutes. I believe Davis has turned the corner and now is ready to become at least a decent fantasy tight end.

You will be able to draft Davis when ever you want in this years draft. As a matter of fact you will probably be able to pick him up off of waivers for awhile this season as well. Most fantasy owners have given up on Davis by this point in his career. But know this the man has the talent to be a top 5 fantasy tight end and I believe he also has the pieces around him to find success as well. While Shaun Hill will never be a great quarterback his is good and very capable of making Vernon a fantasy success. Again feel free to draft him at the end of your draft or pick him up on waivers as the season goes on.
Fantasy Assets:
- Has all the physical tools
- Decent Supporting Cast
- Good Weather Year Round
Fantasy Liability's:
- Run First Offense
- Need to Get over himself and just play ball
