Tom Brady's Recovery From Knee Surgery

In the first game of the season fantasy football owners saw the consistent, reliable and first round fantasy pick Tom Brady laying on the ground in pain. The day after the contest we all learned that Brady was done for the year. This seemed impossible for a man that didn't miss many snaps in his career let alone games in his career. Nevertheless, he was done and fantasy owner were scrounging up the waiver wire the rest of the year for a quarterback.

This off-season the Patriots traded their backup quarterback Matt Cassel away to the Chiefs when the franchise saw that Brady's health was good for this year. Assuming Brady is truly healthy (which I would say he is if the Pats traded Cassel) then Tom will be ready to show the league he's back. With offensive weapons like receivers Randy Moss, Wes Welker and now Joey Galloway, Brady is set up for another year of fantasy football dominance.

Tom Brady's Fantasy Football Value in 2009

I'm sure Brady won't play too much in spring training games but when he does it would be nice to see him make a few big plays just to reconfirm that he is back. If and when he shows his abilities his fantasy football value will be sealed in as a top 2 quarterback in this year's fantasy draft. I know this much about Brady and that is he is a man that is truly a competitor.

Brady loves to win and he loves to play an aggressive style of offense. With the Patriots in a much better division than they were in 2007 Tom also knows he must be good for his team to have the edge against the other in the division. Yes while Matt Cassel led the Pats to a solid record again they didn't make the playoffs. Look for Brady to throw for at least 3,750 yards and 30 touchdowns in his first year back from knee surgery.

I believe 2010 will be a bigger year as it takes two seasons to truly return from a knee injury. At this time in Golf many media people are asking if Tiger Woods is done. They say he doesn't have the same stroke he had before his own knee surgery. Those dumb people never learn that while Woods is having a good year, next year will be more Tiger Woods like. The same holds true for Brady. With a good spring look to take Brady in the second round of the draft.
