Steven Jackson and the St. Louis Offense
Well, well....wear do I begin with this guy? In 2006 Steven Jackson looked like the unquestioned #2 fantasy back in all of football (only LT was better). With more than 1500 yards rushing and 13 rushing touchdowns. Also adding a unreal 90 receptions for 806 yards receiving and 3 touchdown catches. He was truly amazing and looked every bit the player to fill the great Marshell Faulk shoe's in St. Louis.
But there is a reason he is ranked around the number 15 fantasy back this season. And that is because of really in the end two points. The first is his team because it sucks. I like their new head coach and they have made moves on the offensive line this off-season, so that's good. But he still has a quarterback that can't move and gets beat up. Then they lose some day Hall of Fame wide receiver Torry Holt. Not good. The second reason that's hurt his value is his health. In each of the last two season's Steven has missed 4 games each year. Now that probably has something to do with the fact that Jackson has a bad team around him so he takes extra needless hits in the back field. Never the less many have put a first round pick on #39 only to probably *** up out of the playoffs in their respective fantasy leagues.

Although Jackson did loose Holt I see reason for optimism this year. For one his value is more of a third round pick this year than a first rounder. Secondly he does have a good coach that knows defense and the importance of a good sound running game. But in the end Jackson is so freaking talented that it seems no matter how bad the team is around him he can over come it. He's is that good. Yes Jackson just needs to stay healthy this year and if he does I think 12 TD's, 1300 yards and 50 receptions isn't out of reach. That would be a monster 3rd round/ 2nd running back for your fantasy squad. One that would no doubt give you a chance to make a run at a title. Oh and speaking of fantasy titles Jackson is spectacular in December most seasons. Comes in handy at the end.
