Dropping the Long Ball
Longwell was true to his name with a 6 out of 6 effort from beyond 50 yards last season. That was the best kicking you could get in fantasy from that distance a year ago. He also totaled 127 points as a kicker proving to us all he was more then just a made bomber. The only thing I would like to see him accomplish to possibly become the #1 fantasy kicker is to be able to hit like that from 50 yards again this year. As the two season before 2008 Ryan had 1 field goal from 50 plus all together.
Ryan Longwell's Fantasy Football Value in 2009
Look for Ryan to have another strong year kicking in the Vikings dome. With new talent Percy Harvin and possibly Brett Favre coming to the team, Ryan will see his offense move the ball better this year. This in turn should get Longwell more opportunity's overall. Although I have Longwell ranked as the #3 kicker, you may get him cheaper then that.
