Can Roy Be the #1 Receiver for the Cowboys
Last year the Cowboys gave up a #1 pick to the Lions for wide receiver Roy Williams. #11 had a disappointing 10 games with Dallas going for only 19 reception for 198 yards and 1 touchdown. While those number are very bad I believe two things held Williams back a year ago.
1. Health- At the end of 2007 Roy injured his knee and it probably took him a season to come back to full health.
2. Chemistry- Roy came onto the team and had never worked with Romo until around week 10. Even in week 10 Romo could not participate in full practices at all times because of his hand injury. This will change as in the off-season Romo and Williams are working hard together to build chemistry.
Roy Williams Fantasy Football Value in 2009
Look for Roy to put together 1,100 yards and 8 touchdowns in his first full season with the Cowboys. In the end look for Dallas to run the ball early and often with Felix Jones and Marion Barber as they suck defenders in to stop the run. Then Romo will use play action and drop bombs to Roy down the field. This is how the Cowboys did it back in 2007 and I believe they will get back to business in 2009. Look for Roy as a 6th round pick in this years draft. Look for Dallas to win the division and make a playoff run in the first year at their new stadium.
