Forte Carries Bears Offense in 2008
In 2008 the Bears found their next great running back in drafting Matt Forte. True he does not have amazing explosion (like Adrian Peterson) but Forte posses all the skills a fantasy manager could ever hope for other than that. From intuitive vision when making moves in the lane to plowing another pig skin over the goal line. Matt was a clear top 10 running back even before the Bears found the quarterback Jay Cutler landing in their lap. With the big armed man from Denver running the offense, I now see Forte's value riding up the boards.

Forte now has the luxury of not having to face as many 8 man fronts from defense's. Something he proved he could bet with regularity last season with old "Neck Beard" (Kyle Orton) at the helm. The beauty of a runner like this is, even if he has a tough day running, he is an excellent pass catcher. He showed this last season totaling 63 receptions for 477 yards and 4 touchdowns. Not to add in his rushing totals of 1238 yards and 8 touchdowns.
In the end there will probably be a lot of different rankings out there in fantasy land for Forte. Mainly, because so many rookie's had big breakout season's last year. As far as our rankings we see Forte as no less than a top 5 overall pick.
Fantasy Assets:
- Game Breaker
- Touchdown Maker
- 20 or more touches a game
- Good Offensive line
- Solid Quarterback
- Great Pass Catcher
- Consistent
Fantasy Liability's:
- Needs a better #1 Wide Receiver on the team.
