Air it Up and Fire Away

In 2008 Drew Brees had a fantastic season throwing the pig skin. Unfortunately for Colston he came down with a finger injury in week 1 and missed 5 weeks. Upon coming back to the team he started slow but then came on in the last 6 games. In the end he posted 760 yards and 5 touchdowns. Not the type of season fantasy owners expected from a top end receiver. But hey injury's are a part of the game and at least Colston showed us he's healthy from here on. What I did find interesting is his yards per catch moved way up to 16.2 yards a grab. If Brees continues his assault this season look for Marques to stay around a 15 yard per catch average. This is really good news for teams in leagues that give points for how long the distance was on your touchdowns.

Marques Colston's Fantasy Football Value in 2009

Before the finger injury Colston never had any serious injury problems in his young career. Look for #12 to be Drew Brees #1 receiving target again come fall. This kid has all the skills a receiver needs for success and for a high volume of touchdowns year to year. Look for Marques as a top end #2 wide receiver in your draft and you will have him at a very solid price.
