Coles Fantasy Stock Rises?
It is not suposed to happen this way. A receiver leaves a team were he was a #1 receiver on a winning team, goes to a loser to be the #2 receiver and now he is more valuable. Well this is probably the case for Laveranues Coles in 2009. Basically Coles would of had to play with a rookie quarterback with the Jets on a run heavy offense this year. But instead he goes to a pass first offense with Carson Palmer. While Laveranues will play second fiddle to Mr. Ocho Cinco, he will still receive more opportunity's for success with Palmer than a rookie. Especially in the red zone for touchdowns as that piece of a quarterbacks game takes a year or two to develop.
Laveranues Coles Fantasy Football Value in 2009
While #11's yardage numbers have fallen in the last couple years, his touchdowns have not. I believe with a healthy Palmer Coles will receive a bump to around 80 receptions for 950 yards receiving and keep his 7 touchdowns on the year. If Carson is injured again coming into the season how ever stay as far away from the Bengals as you can. For the mean time Coles is a good #3 in deep leagues and a mid round pick.
