If Your Going to Come After Grey Beard....You Better Get Him!
Kurt Warner proved to all of us once and for all that he is a Hall of Fame quarterback in 2008. Just for the fact that he took the Rams (twice) and Cardinals to the Super Bowl should get him the key to each city. From his days backing up Brett Favre and Mark Brunell in Green Bay to walking off the field in his third super bowl Kurt has endured through the good and bad. This to me is probably why I like the guy so much. In 2008 Kurt threw for over 4,500 yards and 30 touchdowns on his way to the Pro Bowl again. Leading fantasy owners to the playoffs and making them smile all year.
This off-season the Cardinals stalled in signing their captain, even letting him fly out to San FransiscoFrancisco to talk with their competitors the 49ers about a contract. LuckilyLuckily, for the Cardinals Kurt choosechose to stay with Arizona. Soon after he signed his deal Kurt under went minor hip surgery. While this can't be comforting I believe he will be just fine coming into this year.
Kurt Warners Fantasy Football Value in 2009
Look for the Cardinals to be on the attack again in 2009. With a solid rookie runner coming on to the team in first round pick Chris "Beanie" Wells. The Cardinals now will have a more balanced attack. Don't worry about Kurt and his receivers as they are still a very heavy pass first run second team.
Look to draft Kurt in your fantasy football draft around the 3rd or 4th round. He will probably be the 3rd or 4th quarterback taken in most fantasy formats this coming season. Take #13 with confidence and then fill the rest of your roster with talent from that point on.
