David Garrard's Fantasy Football Ranking

Player Info:
Last season the Jaguars lost practically their entire offensive line in the first game of the season. From that point on it surprised no one that the Jags struggled all year. With a bad year comes a quarterback being forced to throw the football more and Garrard did just that. His total attempts jumped from 325 in 2007 to 535 in 2008. Thus his total yards jumped as well to 3,600 yards passing. Sadly his touchdown totals dropped form 18 to 15. But one could hardly blame him when he did not have a #1 receiver on the roster.
In walks Torry Holt in this years off-season and now David has himself a clear cut top end receiver to throw at. The Jaguars have also revamped their offensive line to help Garrard return to his only 3 interceptions in 2007.
David Garrard's Fantasy Football Value in 2009
Look for David to go to Torry Holt early and often in this years campaign. This will benefit both of these players and I believe it will benefit Holt the most from a fantasy perspective. Garrard makes for a late round back up fantasy draft pick in deep leagues at this time. It's not that I don't think this guy is capable but he needs more than just Holt and Jones-Drew out of the backfield. Until then he will make for a fine quarterback in the NFL but not in fantasy. How ever I do believe at some point this year David will get hot for 5 or 6 games and at that time he will be a valuable start in a pinch.
Fantasy Assets:
- Has a good number one
- Good Offensive Line
Fantasy Liability's:
- Needs more touchdowns
- In a Run first Offense
- Needs another Receiver
