Daunte Culpepper's Fantasy Football Ranking

No Love for Daunte Culpepper
The one time Viking great quarterback is now nothing but a journeymen. In 06 he was with the Dolphins, then in 07 with the Raiders and finally landed with the Lions in the middle of last year. Now the Lions have selected Matthew Stafford as the #1 overall pick and I can't see Culpepper lasting more then this year in Detroit.
How ever I do believe Daunte has much to play for as he continues to prove he's still a valuable quarterback in the NFL. With Calvin Johnson he has an opportunity to show everyone that his arm is healthy and he can still be a force down the field. I just hope that management and coaches are smart and let Pepp start the entire season this year, letting Stafford learn underneath him. Lets face it the Lions need a lot of help and offensive line is a major area of need. If the Lions throw this kid out to the wolves he may never recover from the pounding he will take. Daunte is big, strong and still mobile veteran. He is also a prov-en "veteran leader" that is something this offense needs very badly right now.

Look for Daunte to hookup with Megatron early and often this year. As the Lions need to role safety's back to open up the running game for Kevin Smith. Daunte has a lot riding on what may be his last season to prove he is still a viable quarterback in the national football league. As far as his fantasy ranking I see Culpepper as a nice option in the late rounds of the draft. Lets face it at that point it is time to go for high risk/ reward players and why not Pepper. With lots to prove look for this one time pro bowl player to rise up and find success against all odds. Or if he does not work out you can always cut him during the season, it's not like he will cost you much.

- Has Calvin Johnson
- Plays in a Dome
- His Career is on the line

- Bad Offensive Line
- May get pulled for the rookie
