Hard times in the Motor City
Only one thing was worse than the economy in the motor city and that was the Lions in 2008. The first franchise to go 0-16 in a season should have striped them of their right to host a Thanks giving game but it did not. From injuries like Jon Kitna going down to the trade of wide receiver Roy Williams the Lions saw much change in one season. All was not a complete loss for the Lions how ever because at least one star burned bright for Detroit and that star was Calvin Johnson. 2nd year wide receiver (or any receiver) aren't supposed to have a 1331 yard, 17.1 average per catch and 12 touchdown season on a team like this. But Johnson is truly the exception to the rule. You can take it to the bank that this is your next super star fantasy football wide receiver for years to come. Lets face it if the kid was able to post those numbers with all the turmoil just at quarterback last year; he can do it under any circumstances.

Many wide receivers disappointed last year in a down year for passing. If you look at the receiver list for Fantasy Football this year it is probably one of the worst years I can remember. But Mega-tron is one receiver that is truly more than meets the eye. #81 is the most explosive wide out in football hands down. I've seen things go south for Randy Moss and Terrell Owens on bad teams and they fold up shop, but not this kid. He had a break out season in year two. Look for Johnson to be the bright star again for Detroit this year. As far as wear to draft him? I want you to take that image in your mind about the team he is on and throw it out the window, then select him with your second pick.

As a team he has plenty of them. But Mega-tron just
rises above them all. Draft him high!
